A series begun early in 2013, this work fully embraces the importance of stitchery in my art for the first time. Begun simply as a way to fill time when I lacked inspiration, the series has grown into something I truly enjoy, and has driven me to begin studying traditional embroidery methods. Each piece is small, beginning with a found photograph, either an antique or cut from a magazine, and then edited with hand stitched thread. The only criteria used for choosing images is that it must catch my eye and be intriguing to me. The meanings of the individual pieces are up to the viewer to determine; for myself, it is purely about the meditative act of altering what I've found in hopes of making it more interesting.
