Portfolio > The Transformative Nature of Light

This series consists of ten boxes, much like you might hide little relics inside, each filled with beeswax and containing a small antique photograph which has been edited by sewing on swatches of color in the form of lighting gels. This series was driven by my fascination with light, and the way light changes and affects what we see and how we perceive things. Our perception of reality is so much driven by what we see, and what we see is controlled by light. Effectively, a change light can change what something is. Similarly, when we allow light into our lives, we are changed as well, just as the people in these images are changed by the addition of the color swatches.
